The Banner component is already installed and available for you to use on your site. This component allows you to display a rotating set of images/logos that link to different URLs in one module, and to track the number of impressions and/or click throughs for each image; the images rotate upon each refresh of the page.

There are two major steps to setting this up on your site. One is creating the banner images and hyperlinks in the Banner Component. The second is configuring the Banners Module to display those banners on your site.

Creating banners:

  1. Log into the Administrator
  2. Upload each of the banner images you plan to display using the Media Manager, into the “Banners” folder
    • Site > Media Manager
    • Create a ‘Banners’ folder that’s right there at the highest level
    • Upload your image files to the new folder
  3. Go to Components > Banners > Manage Clients to create clients (e.g. different organizations; remember, the ClientID is how the Banner Module knows which banners to display)
  4. Go to Components > Banners > Manage Banners to create new banners
    • Click ‘New’
    • Enter a title for the banner
    • Select which client it will be assigned to
    • Choose number of impressions, usually you want unlimited
    • Show banner: ‘Yes’ is the equivalent of ‘Publish’
    • Click URL: this is the hyperlink
    • Custom banner code: ignore this section
    • Banner Image Selector: choose the appropriate image from this drop down menu
    • Click ‘Save’
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 above (creating a client and creating a banner image) for each organization. You can have multiple banners for each client

Setting up the module to display your rotating banners:

  1. Go to Components > Banners > Manage Clients
    • Record the Client ID numberss for every organization that you want to display
  2. Go to Modules > Site Modules > Banners (open this module)
  3. Assign the module position and order, where on the page should they be displayed
  4. Change Published from No to Yes
  5. Under Parameters, enter the Client ID numbers that you recorded. Separate with commas.
  6. On right side, under Pages/Items, assign on which menu items/pages the module should appear.
  7. Click Save
