First you'll have to upload the file to your website document files, then you can insert a link to it in any Content Item.
Go to 'Site' in the top navigation menu
Choose 'Media Manager'
Choose which folder in the Media Manager you would like your document (Word, PDF, etc) to be stored (usually, there's already a folder called 'documents')
Hit the 'Browse' button on the far right of the Media Manager window to find the image file that is stored on your computer and that you want to upload to your site
Once you've chosen the file, and it's directory populates the 'file upload' text box, hit the 'Upload' button on the upper right corner of your screen (it is a globe icon with a green arrow pointing up)
When your image files are successfully uploaded to the server, you should see an icon of the file in the media manager folder that you have open.
Now you're ready to insert the image.
Go to the page of the page you want to edit by going into the Static Content Manager and clicking on the title of the page you want to edit.
In the text area, place your cursor where you want to place your link to the PDF.
Click on the icon in the toolbars that looks like a floppy disk. A new window should pop up.
In the popup window, click on the filename you want to have a link to.
In the Caption or Title box, simply type the text you want to have clickable to take one to the PDF. For instance, enter "download here" or type in the name of the document.
Click the Insert button.
The pop-up window will close, and you can return to editing your item.
