Contact Component: Redirects
The contact component has been modified so that you can choose to redirect your audience to a 'Thank You' page or any other page after they submit the 'Contact Us' (or similar) form.
You can check whether your website's form(s) uses the contact component by going to that specific page on the website and looking for 'com_contact' in the URL. If you see com_contact in the URL, you can do the following to redirect your audience to a page of your choice.
1) Log into the administrator
2) Go to Components > Contacts > Manage Contacts
3) Click on 'New' on the top right to create a new form
OR
Click on the contact name in the 'Contact Manager' to edit the parameters of the form.
4) Next, click on the 'Parameters' tab on the right
5) Scroll down to the very bottom to find the following fields:
Redirect the User: Yes/No - If you choose no, the user will simply see a 'thank you' message (default language) show up on the website after he/she submits the form. If you choose 'yes', you can use the parameter below to redirect the user to a different page after they submit the contact form.
Redirect URL: blank text box - In this text box, copy/paste the URL of the page to where you want audience members to go. For example, you can choose an existing page on your website, such as 'About Us' or create a new static page titled 'Thank You'. Simply go to the 'About Us' page on your website and copy the URL and paste it into this 'Redirect URL' field.
6) Click on 'Save' on the top right
7) Test the Contact form on the frontend to verify that you're being redirected to the respective page.
