Why is the Amount field on Opportunity records in Salesforce for Donations set to $0?

Problem:

Soapbox Donations are being successfully processed by Soapbox and with my payment processor. Lead records are created and converted in Salesforce for these transactions. However, the Amount field on Opportunity records for Donations is set to $0.

Cause:

If you are facing this issue, it might be because the field mapping on the Lead object in Salesforce might not be correct or complete.

Solution:
