As a Soapbox user, should I expect issues with the upgrade process for Nonprofit Success Pack Version 3?

We haven’t heard any reports of any issues related to the upgrade process itself Nonprofit Success Pack Version 3 and the Soapbox Engage Salesforce packages.

I am upgrading to the Nonprofit Success Pack Version 3 but keeping the same Account model. Any issues I can expect?

Nope! The existing data models haven’t changed in ways that affect the Soapbox Engage Salesforce packages.

I am upgrading to the Nonprofit Success Pack Version 3 and adopting the new Household Account model. Anything I should know?

For those using the new Household Account model along with Soapbox Donations, Soapbox Events or Soapbox Petitions, you'll want to ensure that you have installed the latest version of the managed package, Soapbox Donations for Salesforce v1.11,in your Salesforce instance.. For more details, check out How Do I Manage My Soapbox Engage Packages in Salesforce.

When using the new Household Account model along with Soapbox Shop, there are some known issues with values for new fields added to Version 3 as well as the naming convention for the Household Account created through the Lead conversion process. The specifics affect the Household Account created by the Lead conversion process and include the following:

  • Naming convention for the Nonprofit Success Pack isn’t followed upon Lead conversion (e.g., results in “{First Name} {Last Name}” rather than “[Last Name] ‘Household’")
  • Primary Contact field is blank
  • Formal Greeting field is blank
  • Informal Greeting field is blank
  • Number of Household Members field is blank

Given the known issues, should I upgrade to Nonprofit Success Pack Version 3 and the Household Account model?

We are currently updating the Soapbox Engage Salesforce packages for Shop to account for the known issues and will post an update when this has been done. If you are using Shop and can hold off on upgrading until the packages are updated, we’d recommend doing so. Otherwise, any Household Account created from the Lead conversion process of Soapbox would need to be manually updated to address the items below for Shop.

How will I know when the Soapbox Engage Salesforce package updates are ready for installation?

We'll be notifying organizations when the packages are available through our Soapbox CMS & Soapbox Engage Updates and Alerts forum.
