Using Soapbox Mailer, you can provide an unsubscribe link within emails you send to your recipients, giving them an opportunity to request to be unsubscribed from a mailing list. Since Soapbox Mailer is used by organizations to also send ad-hoc, non-newsletter emails, including the unsubscribe link isn't required to send an email.
Organizations use Soapbox Mailer in conjunction with their newsletter subscription management in different ways, we provide a simple yet effective way for organizations to record a recipient's indication to unsubscribe. When a recipient clicks the unsubscribe link, their Campaign Member record's Unsubscribe field is checked. With this information, your organization can build triggers or workflows as you see fit to update other fields in Salesforce. For instance, if your organization follows our recommended route of creating single-select picklists on the Lead and Contact records, you can create a trigger that updates the associated Lead or Contact record's email list subscription field to be "Unsubscribed".
