Moderate Comments – Soapbox Support Center

If you have set Comment Moderation for either guests or anyone, you have the ability to moderate individual comments prior to them appearing on the site.

Moderation List

To access the Moderation List for comment moderation:

Go to Components > Comments to view the Moderation List
When you first visit the moderation list it will only show pending comments. Pending comments are those that have either not been approved or not automatically flagged as spam.
Each comment is listed with extensive information in order for you to quickly access whether or not to approve the comment.
To quickly batch moderate a number of new posts, simply selected the radio button beside either Publish or Spam in each comment, then click Moderate in the Toolbar. You may also leave comments in a deferred state if you want to investigate them further.
To visit the page on which the comment was made, click the link next to the Referrer label.
To block the IP address which was the source of a comment, click the Block link next to the IP address. This will automatically add it to the "IPs to Block" setting in the configuration panel.
To view a comment in more detail, click the link in the Date column.
To change the state of the comment, select the radio button next to Published, Defer or Spam and click the Moderate button.
To edit the posted details of the comment, click Edit in the Toolbar.
To visit the page on which the comment was made, click the link next to the Referrer label.
To block the user which was the source of a comment, click the Block link next to the user name. This will automatically add it to the "Users to Block" setting in the configuration panel.
To block the IP address which was the source of a comment, click the Block link next to the IP address. This will automatically add it to the "IPs to Block" setting in the configuration panel.
To the right of the details of the comment, there are a number of panels. Click on the pane title to unroll the entire pane.

Viewing a Comment

The Comment view shows all the information posted by the user, as well as ancillary information collected by the commenting system.

This is a list of recent posts made on the same page.

Recent Posts: Same Author

This is a list of the recent posts made by the same author.

Recent Posts: Same IP Address

This is a list of the recent posts made from the same IP address.
