Customizing the login page for front-end web users

Soapbox Engage the Portals add on is installed with a default login page, logout page, and Member Center page. You can customize text to appear on the login page as well as where the user is redirected after completion of a given action.

To customize the login page:

  • In the administrator main menu, go to Menus > Portal User Menu
  • In the Menu Item Manager that opens, click Login in the Menu Item column
  • In the left column, customize the Title, if you wish the page title to be something other than "Login"
  • For Alias, customize the URL for this page, if you wish it to be something other than "/login"
  • In the right column under Parameters (Basic), for Show Login Page Title, select Show, if you wish the text you customize in Login Page Title to be displayed
  • For Login Page Title, customize title text to appear above the login form
  • For Login Redirection URL, enter the URL to which you wish to forward a user after successful login. By default, the user is redirected to a page titled "Member Center". If you wish to keep this redirect as is but customize content of the page displayed, see below. As an alternative, you may wish to redirect the user to any Soapbox Engage form you have created by entering its alias here.
  • For Login Description, select Show, if you wish to customize text to appear below the Login Page Title and above the login form
  • For the Login Description text area, enter the text to appear below the Login Page Title and above the login form. Basic HTML can be used in this field.
  • For Login Image, select one of the default images from the drop down to display on the form or choose "- None Selected -" to not display an image
  • For Login Image Align, select the desired alignment of the image, if you have chosen one to display
  • For Show Logout Page Title, select Show, if you wish the text you customize in Logout Page Title to be displayed
  • For Logout Page Title, customize title text to appear above the logout button
  • For Logout Redirection URL, enter the URL to which you wish to forward a user after logout
  • For Logout Description, select Show, if you wish to customize text to appear below the Logout Page Title and above the logout button
  • For the Logout Description text area, enter the text to appear below the Logout Page Title and above the logout form. Basic HTML can be used in this field.
  • For Logout Image, select one of the default images from the drop down to display on the page or choose "- None Selected -" to not display an image
  • For Logout Image Align, select the desired alignment of the image, if you have chosen one to display
  • Click Save
