Boost recurring donations this giving season with the new upsell prompt!If you use PayPal Website Payments Pro and you or a site visitor attempting to make a payment an error when attempting to make payment that begins "Error:" followed by a five digit code in parenthesis, this is an error generated by PayPal itself.
Below is a list of common error codes and their meaning. For a full list, refer to PayPal's documentation.
Consult the list to determine what the error means. If it is related to aspects of your PayPal account including payment status or account verification, please login to your PayPal account to investigate and resolve the issue. If you are uncertain the nature of the error, feel free to contact us and provide as much detail as you can regarding the 1) page on your site the transaction was taking place; 2) the details of the transaction; and 3) the outcome including the specific error message and code.

| 10505 | This transaction cannot be processed. | The transaction was refused because the AVS response returned the value of N, and the merchant account is not able to accept such transactions. |
| 10507 | This transaction cannot be processed. Please contact PayPal Customer Service. | Your PayPal account is restricted - contact PayPal for more information. |
| 10537 | This transaction cannot be processed. | The transaction was declined by the country filter managed by the merchant. To accept this transaction, change your risk settings on PayPal. |

| 10550 | This transaction cannot be processed | Access to Direct Payment was disabled for your account. Contact PayPal for more information. |
| 10552 | This transaction cannot be processed | The merchant account attempting the transaction does not have a confirmed email address with PayPal. Check your account settings. |
| 10553 | This transaction cannot be processed | The merchant attempted a transaction where the amount exceeded the upper limit for that merchant. |
| 10554 | This transaction cannot be processed | The transaction was declined because of a merchant risk filter for AVS. Specifically, the merchant has set to decline transaction when the AVS returned a no match (AVS = N). |
| 10555 | This transaction cannot be processed | The transaction was declined because of a merchant risk filter for AVS. Specifically, the merchant has set to decline transaction when the AVS returned a partial match. |
| 10556 | This transaction cannot be processed | The transaction was declined because of a merchant risk filter for AVS. Specifically, the merchant has set to decline transaction when the AVS was unsupported. |
| 10748 | This transaction cannot be processed without a Credit Card Verification Number. | The merchant's configuration requires a CVV to be entered, but no CVV was provided with this transaction. Contact PayPal if you wish to change this setting. |
| 10755 | This transaction cannot be processed due to an unsupported currency. | The currency code entered by the merchant is not supported. |
| 10758 | There's been an error due to invalid API username and/or password. | The API username or password is incorrect for this merchant |
| 10760 | This transaction cannot be processed. The country listed for your business address is not currently supported. | The merchant's country of residence listed in their PayPal account is not currently supported to allow Direct Payment transactions. |
| 15003 | This transaction cannot be processed | The transaction was declined because the merchant does not have a valid commercial entity agreement on file with PayPal. Contact PayPal for more information. |
