Creating and customizing the URL and Page Title of a Forms page

How you create and customize the URL and Page Title of a Soapbox Forms page is determined by the version of the Soapbox administrator your site has.

I have the Soapbox Engage Administrator with...I have the Soapbox CMS Administrator with...
  • Main menu with no drop down options
  • Forms link in the main menu
  • Forms Pages module in the left column of the home page
  • Soapbox Engage User Account module at the top of the right column of the home page

  • Main menu with many drop down options
  • Menu link in the main menu
  • Icons for managing content in the left column of the home page
  • Getting Help with Your Soapbox Site module at the top of the right column of the home page

For Soapbox sites using the Soapbox Engage Administrator:

To customize the URL and Page Title of a Soapbox Forms page within the Soapbox Engage administrator:

  1. Go to the Forms Pages module on the home page of the administrator
  2. Locate the Soapbox Forms page you wish to view in the Forms Pages module
  3. Click Customize URL
  4. In the popup, enter a custom URL you wish to use. This should be web-safe, containing no spaces or characters no suitable for inclusion in a URL.
  5. For Page Title, enter the text you wish to appear in the page title bar of the visitor's browser and in search engine results
  6. Click Save

If the Forms page is not shown in the Forms Pages module on the home page:

  1. Click View All in the module --OR-- click Forms in the main menu
  2. In the Forms Manager, click the Forms form you wish to update
  3. On the Basics tab next to URL, click Customize URL
  4. In the popup, enter a custom url you wish to use. This should be web-safe, containing no spaces or characters no suitable for inclusion in a URL
  5. For Page Title, enter the text you wish to appear in the page title bar of the visitor's browser and in search engine result
  6. Click Save

For Soapbox sites using the Soapbox CMS Administrator:

To customize the URL and Page Title of a Soapbox Forms page within the Soapbox CMS administrator:

  1. Mouse over Menus in the main menu
  2. In the drop down, click the menu in which you wish the Forms menu item to be placed
  3. Click New (+) icon in the upper right
  4. Under "Select Menu Item Type" choose "Forms > Forms Page"
  5. In the new screen, for Title, add the title that you would like for your new page
  6. For Alias:
    1. Leave this blank, if you wish Soapbox to automatically generate the alias using URL-safe characters based on the title you provide (e.g., "Submit Now!" becomes "submit-now"; or
    2. Enter your own alias using URL-safe characters
  7. For Parent Item, choose where you want the menu item to live
  8. For Published, choose Yes
  9. For Access Level, leave it as Public unless you want the page to only be available to logged in users (in which case you may want to make it a Registered or Special access level page)
  10. For On Click, Open In, leave it as "Parent Window With Browser Navigation"
  11. In the right column for Parameters (Basic) > Select Form, click Select
  12. In the Select popup, click the Forms
  13. form you wish to use for this menu item
  14. Click Save
