Creating a Fundraising Live Display

updated

With the Live Displays app, you can create a Fundraising Live Display to project real-time fundraising totals, donor activity, and a QR code at a live event.

To create a Fundraising Live Display:

  1. Open the Live Displays app in the administrator.
  2. Click New and select Fundraising from the dropdown.
  3. For Name, enter an internal name for the display. This name is visible only in the administrator.
  4. For Title, enter the title to appear on the live display screen.
  5. For Subtitle, enter an optional subtitle to appear below the title on the display.
  6. For Description, enter any internal notes about this display. This text is not shown on the display.
  7. For Goal, enter the dollar amount fundraising goal for the display.
  8. For Donation Pages, click Select and choose one or more Donation pages whose donations will be aggregated and shown on this display.
  9. For Display Test Donations, select No - unless you wish test transactions to appear in the Live Display
  10. For Display Offline Donations, select Yes if you wish transactions that are added in the administrator to appear in the Live Display
  11. For Display Organization Logo, select Yes to show your organization's logo on the display or No to hide it.
  12. For Font Family, select a font to use for the display text.
  13. For Background Color, enter a hex color value or use the color picker to set the background color of the display.
  14. For Donation Page for QR Code, click Select and choose the Donation page donors should go to when scanning the QR code on the display.
  15. For Display QR Code, select Yes to show a QR code on the display or No to hide it.
  16. Click Save.
  17. On the Displays list, click Copy URL next to the display to copy the display URL to your clipboard.

QR code requirement

To show a QR code on the display, you must first select a page in the Donation Page for QR Code field before setting Display QR Code to Yes.

Opening the display

The display URL opens the Fundraising Live Display in a browser. Open this URL on the device you are using to project the display at your event.

Updating the QR code after a page URL change

If you later update the URL of the Donation page selected for the QR code (for example, by changing its menu alias), you must re-save the Live Display to update the QR code on the display.
