Soapbox Engage Onsite opens in a web browser at /sbxapp on your Soapbox site — for example, https://www.example.org/sbxapp. Nothing needs to be installed to use it, but installing it to the home screen gives your team a one-tap icon and a full screen without browser chrome, which is worth doing before an event.
To open the app:
- Open a browser on the device.
- Go to your Soapbox site address followed by /sbxapp.
- Sign in. See Signing in to Engage Onsite.
Note: The app currently displays the name Soapbox Staff on your device, including on the home screen icon and the install prompt. The product name is changing to Soapbox Engage Onsite in a coming release.
Installing on an iPhone or iPad
Installing to the home screen on Apple devices works in Safari only. If your team uses Chrome or another browser on an iPhone or iPad, open the app in Safari first.
- Open the app in Safari and sign in.
- Tap Profile.
- Under Add to home screen, follow the prompt.
- Tap the Share button in Safari's toolbar.
- Choose Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm.
The app now opens from the home screen icon like any other app.
Installing on an Android device
- Open the app in Chrome and sign in.
- Tap Profile.
- Under Add to home screen, tap Install app.
- Confirm the prompt.
If no prompt appears, open Chrome's menu and choose Add to Home Screen.
Installing on a computer
- Open the app in Chrome or Edge and sign in.
- Click Profile.
- Under Add to home screen, click Install app.
You can also look for an install icon in the browser's address bar, or open the browser menu and choose the install option.
Keeping devices up to date
The app updates itself when a new version is released. If a device seems to be behaving differently from the others, close the app completely and reopen it.
