Where donations collected in Soapbox Engage Onsite appear

updated

A gift taken on a staff device is an ordinary donation. It appears in the same place as one made through your website, is reported the same way, and flows to your integrations the same way. The only difference is that it records who collected it.

To find a gift taken in the app:

  1. Navigate to Soapbox Donations > Transactions in the administrator.
  2. Find the transaction by donor name, date, or amount.
  3. Click it to open the detail view.

Collected By

The transaction detail shows a Collected By row naming the staff member who took the gift. It appears only on gifts collected in the app — a donation made by a donor on your website has no one to name.

This is what makes a cash box or a busy evening reconcilable. If you want that trail to be meaningful, give each staff member their own account rather than sharing one. See Giving your team access to Soapbox Engage Onsite.

Recurring gifts

A recurring gift set up in the app appears in Subscriptions with its frequency, and each payment appears in Transactions as it is taken.

Receipts

Donors receive the same acknowledgement as they would from your website, provided your team captured an email address on the Donor Information screen.

If a gift is missing

Occasionally a payment succeeds but the record does not save, and the app shows Recording Failed at the time. If a gift your team remembers taking is not in Transactions, see The payment went through but the sale didn't save.
