If your Donation form offers designations, your team can pick one at the moment the gift is taken. That is what tells your finance system which fund, programme, or appeal the money belongs to — and it is far easier to ask the donor standing in front of you than to work it out from a bank statement three weeks later.
To assign a designation:
- Tap Donate in the app, or tap Take a donation on the Home screen.
- Enter the amount.
- Tap Designation.
- Search or scroll to find the one you want.
- Tap it.
- Tap Continue.
The chosen designation is shown on the Review screen before payment is collected, so your team can check it with the donor.
Searching a long list
Organizations with many funds can have a long designation list. Type into the search box to filter it. If nothing matches, the app says so rather than showing an empty list.
Leaving it unassigned
Choosing No designation records the gift without one. Use it when the donor has no preference, or when you simply do not have time to ask.
Where designations come from
The list comes from the Donation form that Soapbox Engage Onsite is configured to use. If a designation your team needs is missing, add it to that form rather than expecting the app to offer it. See Choosing the donation form Engage Onsite uses.
Note: If the Designation option does not appear at all, the configured form has no designations attached to it.
