In the Donations app, any Donation page you create can be used as a Donations modal popup on your website.
You may use an existing Donation page as a Donations modal popup, however, we recommend that you create a Donation page specifically for this purpose.
You may add multiple links to a Donations modal popup that use the same Donation page in many places throughout your site or you may choose to create individual Donations pages for each individual Donations modal popup.
For any Donation page you wish to use as a modal popup, you'll want to enter values into parameters that are specific to the Donation page when it is displayed in the modal popup. To do so:
- Go to the Donations Manager in your Soapbox administrator
- Click New
- On the Basics tab, enter a Title. This is required to save the Donations page. You will be able to set a separate Popup Title later in the process.
- For Published, select Yes
- For Newsletter Sign Up, select Yes or No. If you select Yes, you may choose the option to be checked by default.
- Disregard Page Intro, Page Outro, and Form Footer sections as these are not displayed in the Donations modal popup
- For Description, if you wish, enter an internal description that will appear on the Donations Manager in the administrator
- Click the Contact Information tab
- On the Contact Information tab, enable or disable fields as you wish. You may also add Custom Salesforce Fields or Custom Microsoft Fields, if your Soapbox Engage instance integrates with either CRM.
- Click the Payment tab
- For the Payment Frequency section, enter a value for Default Amount, if you wish
- Disregard all other parameters in the Payment Frequency section as the Donations modal popup form always displays donation amount options as buttons and always shows One-Time and Recurring options simultaneously
- In the One-Time Payments section:
- For One-Time Payment, choose to show or hide one-time payment options
- For Predefined Amounts (One-Time), enter the one-time predefined values you wish to display. We recommend that you do not use labels for predefined values. You may use a code if you wish.
- Disregard Amount Orientation
- For Custom Amount Field, choose to Show or Hide the one-time custom amount option
- For Custom Amount Level Code, enter a value, if you wish
- For Enable Recurring Upsell, choose Yes or No to prompt one-time donors to give monthly
- In the Recurring Payments section:
- If your site uses Braintree as its payment processor, enter a value for Braintree Plan Id. If you site uses Stripe, enter a value for Stripe Price Id, if you wish to use a different Price Id than the default for the site.
- For Recurring Payment Frequency, select Monthly or Annual, if your payment processor in Soapbox supports annual recurring payments
- For Predefined Amounts Recurring), enter the recurring predefined values you wish to display. We recommend that you do not use labels for predefined values. You may use a code if you wish.
- Disregard Amount Orientation
- For Custom Amount Field, choose to Show or Hide the recurring custom amount option
- For Custom Amount Level Code, enter a value, if you wish
- For the Dedication section, choose whether you wish the Donations modal popup to support In Honor Of and/or In Memory Of gifts as well as which dedication fields you wish to display
- In the Billing Information section, ensure that Major Credit Cards is set to Yes
- If your site uses Authorize.net as its payment processor, for Enable Bank Transfers, choose, Yes, No, or Use Global Default
- For Transaction Description, enter text you wish to use
- In the Transaction Fee Coverage section, choose whether you wish to offer the visitor the option to cover the transaction fee. If so, enter a percentage to add to their donation.
- Click the Messages tab
- For Confirmation Email, customize the message elements as you wish
- For Administrator Confirmation Email, customize the message elements as you wish
- Disregard the Redirect After Payment and Thank You Page sections
- Disregard the Layout tab
- Click the Integration tab
- For the Salesforce section, if your site integrates with Salesforce, select a Campaign with which to integrate
- For the Microsoft Fundraising and Engage section, if your site integrates with Microsoft, select a Campaign, Appeal, Designation and Package with which to integrate
- For the Donation Modal Popup section:
- For Upload Popup Hero Image, select an image from your computer that you wish to upload to use as the hero image for the popup. Minimum size for this image should be 465 px x 273 px.
- For Select a Popup Hero Image, choose a previously uploaded image, if you wish.
- For Popup Title, enter text to be displayed below the hero image. If no Popup Title is specified, the Donations page Title will be displayed.
- For Popup Appeal, enter the text you wish to appear below the hero image and title on the appeal pane of the Donations modal popup
- For Popup Thank You Text, enter the text you wish to display on the thank you page. NOTE: No merge fields are supported at this time.
- Click Save
