Allowing end users to filter events in a calendar by Term


If your site has the Soapbox CMS (Does my site have the Soapbox CMS?), for calendar menu items, you may choose to display a drop down field that allows end users to select a term by which to filter the events in the calendar. This drop down will either show all Taxonomy Terms for your site or only those under the parent Term selected for Soapbox Events in the Configuration.

For instance, if you have Soapbox Events with the terms "Classes", "Volunteer Opportunities", and "Fundraisers", these three terms could appear in the drop down so end users could choose one to view only that type of event.

To enable the filter for a calendar menu item:

  1. Go to Menus > Main Menu (or the menu where the menu item is located)
  2. Click the name of the calendar menu to edit it
  3. In the right column, click Parameters Advanced
  4. For Terms Filter, choose Yes
  5. Click Save
