Sometimes, for one reason or another, a Soapbox registration may not make it to Salesforce properly or you may want to bypass entering the registration via your Soapbox Events form. In these cases you may enter a reservation into Salesforce manually. Following are the steps to do so:
- If the registration was made in Soapbox:
- Log into the Soapbox admin and navigate to the Events component
- Open the Reservations tab
- Find the reservation that you would like to add to Salesforce
- Note the registrants name and email address
- Click the number of tickets link in the "Tickets" column
- Note the information for each ticket
- Log in to your Salesforce instance.
- Create a new Lead for the registration:
- Select Create New -> Lead
- Set "Record Type of new record" to "Soapbox Registration"
- Click "Continue"
- In the New Lead form, fill in First Name, Last Name, Email, Company, and select the Campaign with which you want the registration to be associated.
- Fill in any other information that is relevant such as ticket price, address, etc.
- Click "Save"
- At this point the lead should automatically convert, creating a (or matching to an existing) Contact and Account, and creating an Opportunity.
- Navigate to the Campaign to which you associated the Lead
- You should see an Opportunity and Campaign Member for the lead you created. Confirm that you see those listed.
- Create any tickets, if needed:
- Scroll down to the Tickets related list
- Click New Ticket:
- Ticket Holder field: Leave the top-line "Ticket Holder" field blank.
- Purchaser field: Use the search button to find the purchasers name
- Opportunity field: Use the search button to find the opportunity you've just created
- Fill in any other fields as needed, including the Ticket Holder section
- Click "Save"
- Confirm that your ticket was created by looking in the Tickets related list in the campaign.
- Repeat steps 1-8 for each ticket purchased for the transaction.
And that should do it! Just repeat that process for each transaction that you want to manually enter.
