Customizing the activation message when users click the activation link

Whenever an individual registers for a new web user account, they will receive an email with an activation link they must click as a final step in the process. After clicking this link, they will be taken to your site and shown either a success message or a failure message. The failure message is usually displayed if they have activated their account earlier.

Both the success and failure message can be customized. To do so, submit a ticket with the desired text and we'll update these messages for you.

Default Success Message

The following is the default success message text. The "Activation Complete!" title is not customizable. Everything following that title is:

Activation Complete!
Your Account has been successfully activated. You can now log in using the username and password you chose during the registration.

Default Failure Message

The following is the default success message text. The "Invalid Activation Link!" title is not customizable. Everything following that title is:

Invalid Activation Link!
The system is unable to find a user with the given activation string. The account may already be activated or their activation code has expired. If it has expired, you need to re-register with this site.

Allowable HTML in Customized Messages

The following HTML elements can be included in the message:

  • Paragraphs
  • Bold
  • Italics
  • Hyperlinks
  • Unordered Lists
  • Ordered Lists
  • Images
  • Horizontal Rule

If you wish to include an image, please include it as an attachment to the ticket.
