Configuring exclusions to price-based shipping rates based on country, amount, or logged in user

In the Shop app, you can charge shipping costs based on the total price of all shippable products included in a Shop Store or Shop shopping cart order. You can also create exceptions that disable price-based shipping in situations where you wish or need to calculate the shipping cost manually. These include the country to which the items will be shipping, the total cost of the shippable products in the order, and the user group of a logged in user placing the order.

When one or more price-based shipping exclusions are applied, the following happens in the Shop shopping cart:

1. credit card payment methods are disabled
2. invoice is selected as the payment method by default
3. shipping cost line item in the totals section of the Shop shopping cart is shown as "TBD"
4. on confirmation page and emails, the total cost will be shown as "$x,xxx (shipping not included" with shipping cost line item shown as "TBD"
5. in the Order detail view in the administrator, total cost on confirmation page and emails will be shown as "$x,xxx (shipping not included" with shipping cost line item shown as "TBD"

To enable one or more price-based shipping exclusions:

• Open the Configuration for the Shop app
• Click the Shipping tab
• For Exclude Orders from Price-Based Shipping based on Country, tick the checkbox if you wish to exclude one or more countries from price-based shipping. Once you've ticked the checkbox, select the country or countries you wish to exclude from the Allowed Countries multiselect box and click the single right arrow to move them to the Excluded Countries multiselect box. You may also use the double right arrow if you wish to move all countries to the Excluded Countries box and then move only a select few to the Allowed Countries box such as the United States and Canada.
• For Exclude Orders from Price-Based Shipping based on User Group, tick the checkbox if you wish orders placed by logged in users in one or more user groups to be excluded from price-based shipping. Once you've ticked the checkbox, use the buttons between the multiselect boxes to move the user groups you wish to exclude to the Excluded User Groups box.
• For Exclude Orders if Total Cost of Shippable Products is Greater than Shipping Ranges, tick the checkbox if you wish to exclude any order whose total cost of shippable products is greater than the highest price-based shipping range in the table above the exclusions section. As an example, if the highest range is $1,000 - $2,000, ticking this box will exclude any order with a total cost of shippable items that is greater than $2,000.
