With the Donations app, you can allow visitors the ability to complete one-time and recurring gifts off-site directly with PayPal Standard and have that data recorded in Soapbox and in Salesforce, if Salesforce integration is enabled. For recurring gifts, notifications of subsequent payments are then sent from PayPal to Soapbox where Soapbox then records them locally and in Salesforce.
With a recent release, we updated how Soapbox processes these subsequent recurring payment notifications from PayPal Standard that accounts for an intermittent issue reported on the PayPal side. This PayPal issue had caused some subsequent payment notifications for successful transactions to fail to be recorded in Soapbox and Salesforce for some clients. This enhancement allows Soapbox to successfully process subsequent payment notifications even if there is a problem with PayPal's servers.
