Boost recurring donations this giving season with the upsell prompt!When viewing a Fundraising Live Display in a browser, you can adjust its appearance and behavior in real time using the Settings panel. Changes you save are stored in the administrator and persist when the display is refreshed.
Opening the Settings panel
Move the mouse over the display to reveal the Settings button in the lower right corner of the screen. Click Settings to open the Settings panel.
Note: The Settings button automatically hides after a few seconds of no mouse movement. This is intentional — move the mouse at any time to bring it back.
Settings
Base Color
Use the color picker or enter a hex color value in the text field to change the background color of the display. Click the reset button to return to the default Soapbox blue.
Changes are visible on the display immediately as you adjust the color.
Font Family
Select a font from the dropdown to change the text font used throughout the display. The dropdown shows each font rendered in its own typeface, and System uses the viewing device's own font. Changes are visible on the display immediately.
Title
Enter text in the Title field to change the title shown on the display. The display updates in real time as you type.
Subtitle
Enter text in the Subtitle field to show a second line below the title. This is optional — leave it blank for no subtitle.
Fundraising Goal
Enter a dollar amount in the Fundraising Goal field to change the goal shown on the progress bar. The display updates in real time.
Paddle Raise Mode
A paddle raise is a live fundraising technique where an emcee asks attendees to pledge at a series of descending giving levels — for example, starting at $1,000 and working down — with donors raising their hand or paddle at each level they're willing to give.
Enable Display Paddle Raise Level to show the giving level currently being called on the display.
The giving levels themselves, and the commitments recorded against them, come from the auction linked to this display. You run the paddle raise from the auction's Paddle Raise tab in the administrator — that is where you set the levels up and where you advance from one level to the next during the event. The display follows along automatically.
Important: This toggle only controls whether the level appears on screen. If no auction is linked to the display, there is nothing for it to show. An administrator links the auction on the display's edit screen in the administrator.
When a commitment is recorded for exactly the active level's amount, a large spotlight fills the centre of the display showing that amount and the giver's first name and last initial, then fades after a moment. A commitment for any other amount — including a larger one — does not trigger it.
Logo
Enable the Enable Logo toggle to show the organization logo on the display.
When enabled, click Choose File to upload a logo image. To remove an uploaded logo, click the × button next to the logo thumbnail.
Background Image
Enable the Enable Background Image toggle to show a full-screen background image behind the display.
When enabled, click Choose File to upload a background image. To remove an uploaded background image, click the × button next to the image thumbnail.
Display Sponsors Scroll
Enable Show scrolling sponsors to show a scrolling bar of sponsor names along the bottom of the display.
When enabled, select a speed from the Sponsor Scroll Speed dropdown: Slow, Medium, or Fast.
Sponsors come from the auction linked to this display, where they are set up on the auction's Sponsors and Sponsor Levels tabs. An administrator can also choose which sponsor levels appear on a given display from the display's edit screen in the administrator — useful when you want only your top tiers on the main screen.
Note: If no auction is linked to the display, or the linked auction has no published sponsors, the scroll has nothing to show.
Note: The "Powered by Soapbox Engage" logo at the bottom right of the display is a separate element from the sponsors scroll. Disabling the sponsors scroll hides only the scrolling sponsor names; the Soapbox Engage logo remains visible regardless of this setting.
Donation Stream
Enable the Show stream toggle to show the real-time donor feed on the right side of the display.
When enabled, select a Display Option for what to show for each donor in the stream:
- Bidder Name and Number — shows both the donor's name and bidder number
- Bidder Name — shows only the donor's name
- Bidder Number — shows only the bidder number
Note: Bidder numbers are assigned to donors through the Auctions app. If your event is not using the Auctions app, select Bidder Name.
Saving settings
Click Save at the bottom of the Settings panel to save all changes. The panel closes automatically after a successful save. Settings are stored in the administrator and will be in place the next time the display URL is opened.
