Linking to Auctions on the front end

With the Auctions app, you can create a menu item that links front-end visitors directly to an auction's homepage. This menu item defines the URL that bidders use to browse items, register, and place bids.

To create a front-end link to an auction homepage:

1. Go to the Menu Manager for your administrator.
2. Open the menu in which you wish to create the Auctions link by clicking the icon in the Menu Item(s) column. For most Soapbox Engage sites, this will be the main navigation menu or a hidden menu, depending on your site structure.
3. Click New.
4. Under Select Menu Item Type, click Auctions.
5. In the options that expand, click Home Page.
6. For Title, enter the label that visitors will see in the menu (for example, "Auction" or "Bid Now").
7. For Alias, you may leave this blank to have Soapbox automatically generate the URL based on the title, or enter a custom alias.
8. Under Parent Item, select the appropriate menu item this link should fall under. If it is a top-level item, leave this blank.
9. For Select Auction, select the auction you want visitors to reach from this menu item.
10. Click Save.

Note: Each menu item links to a single auction. If you have multiple auctions, create a separate menu item for each one.
