Boost recurring donations this giving season with the upsell prompt!With the Auctions app, you can download every item in an auction as a CSV file — to check your catalog, to share it with a committee, to build a printed program from, or as the starting point for a bulk edit.
To export items:
- Open the Auctions Manager.
- Click the title of the auction you want to export.
- Click the Items tab.
- Click Export in the toolbar.
A CSV file downloads to your device.
Note: Export becomes available once the auction has been saved. On a brand-new auction that has not been saved yet, save it first.
What the file contains
One row per item, using the same columns as the import file — identity, type and category, all the price fields, descriptions, visibility, shipping, inventory, and your internal notes.
Crucially it includes each item's id, which is what makes a round trip possible.
Editing in bulk
The export and import are designed to work as a pair:
- Export the auction's items.
- Edit the file — change prices, fix descriptions, move items between categories, set items featured.
- Import the same file back.
Because every row carries its id, each one updates the item it came from instead of creating a duplicate. Leave the id column alone while editing.
This is the practical way to make the same change across many items — repricing a whole category, or correcting a donor name that was entered inconsistently.
Important: Items with bids or purchases will not accept price or type changes through an import. Everything else about them still updates. See Importing auction items from a CSV file.
What is not in the file
Photos are not exported, and cannot be imported. To move items with their photos, copy them instead — see Copying items from a previous Auction.
Bidding activity is not included either. The export describes your catalog, not what has happened to it. For results, use the winning bids export on the Winning Bids tab.
