Checking in a guest by searching for their name

updated

Not every guest arrives with a scannable ticket. Your team can find anyone on the guest list by name, email address, or ticket number and check them in by hand.

To check a guest in from the list:

  1. Tap Events in the app, or tap Check in guests on the Home screen.
  2. Tap the event you are working.
  3. Tap the Attendee list button at the top of the screen.
  4. In the search box, enter the guest's name, email address, or ticket number.
  5. Find the guest in the results.
  6. Tap Check In on their row.

The row updates to show they have arrived, and the checked-in count goes up.

Note: Search matches on name, email, or ticket number, so a guest who booked under a partner's name can be found by the email address on the booking.

Filtering the list

The list can be filtered to show everyone, only guests who have checked in, or only guests still to arrive. Late in an event, filtering to those still to arrive is the quickest way to see who is outstanding.

Clearing a search

Tap the clear button in the search box to return to the full list.

If the guest is not on the list

Soapbox Engage Onsite checks in guests who already hold a reservation. Someone who has not registered cannot be added at the door in the app — take their registration through your event page, or add the reservation in the administrator, and they will then appear in the list.
