An order taken at a merchandise table is an ordinary Shop order. It sits alongside your online orders, is reported the same way, and records who took it.
To find an order taken in the app:
- Open the Shop app in the administrator.
- Click Orders.
- Find the order by buyer name, date, or amount.
- Click it to open the detail view.
Collected By
The order detail shows a Collected By row naming the staff member who took the order. It appears only on orders collected in the app.
If you want that trail to mean something at the end of an event, give each person working the table their own account rather than sharing one. See Giving your team access to Soapbox Engage Onsite.
Receipts
Buyers are emailed a receipt when an in-person order completes, provided your team entered an email address at checkout. Without one there is no address to send to and no receipt is sent — worth telling your table staff, because a buyer who expected a receipt will ask.
Inventory
An in-person sale reduces stock the same way an online sale does, so your inventory stays accurate across both.
If an order is missing
Occasionally a payment succeeds but the record does not save, and the app shows Recording Failed at the time. If an order your team remembers taking is not in the list, see The payment went through but the sale didn't save.
