Completing a guest's details at check-in

updated

Some guests arrive on a ticket with no name or no email address, often one a purchaser bought for them. Soapbox Engage Onsite lets your team check the guest in, complete their ticket from the confirmation, and save their card, without searching for them again.

To complete a guest's details at check-in:

  1. Check the guest in as normal, by scanning or from the list.
  2. On the Success! confirmation, tap Complete Details. The button reads Complete Details when the ticket is missing a first name, last name or email address, and Edit Ticket when it has all three.
  3. Enter the guest's first name, last name and email address, and correct anything else that needs it.
  4. Tap Save.

When the saved ticket has an email address and the guest has no card, the card options open next, so you can save a card while the guest is still at the desk. Tap the back arrow to skip it. See Saving a guest's card at check-in.

Note: First name, last name and email address are all needed to save. The changes are saved to the guest's ticket, the same record your administrators see on the event's Tickets tab.

Saving a card for a guest with no email address

When a guest has no Soapbox account and their ticket has no email address, Add Payment Method on their record opens their edit form first, with the note Name and email are needed to save a card. Enter the guest's name and email address and tap Save. The card options open next.

When the guest is a bidder

A guest's bidder can be a placeholder with no name, email address or account, for example one created from an unnamed ticket. Saving the guest's details updates it without asking, and the record reads The bidder now has the ticket's name and email.

For any other bidder, changing the name or email address asks what to do with the bidder before the app saves. See What happens to a bidder when you edit a guest's ticket.

Completing details before check-in

You can also complete a guest's details before checking them in. Open their record from the attendee list, tap Edit, and save. Then tap Check In on the Check-In line at the top of the record. See Viewing and updating a guest's details at the door.
