Why is it taking so long for Mailer to send out emails?

Soapbox Mailer clocks in at 2 - 6 emails per second, depending on time of day with peak hours being closer to 2 and off-peak hours closer to 6.

That means a batch of 10,000 emails can be expected to take between roughly 30 minutes and 90 minutes.
