Why do I see Salesforce State and Country picklist errors on confirmation pages for Soapbox Events?

If you run into the following error message on the confirmation page for Events, it is because the State and Country picklist options Salesforce introduced are fully supported only by the Donations app at the current time. If these are enabled within your Salesforce instance and you use the Events app, it will cause this error and not allow records to be created if you have enabled address fields in the Contact Information section of the registration form for an Event.

Error Message:

Salesforce Error: There's a problem with this country, even though it may appear correct. Please select a country from the list of valid countries.: Country

Solutions:

To address this, you have two options:

• Do not display state and country address fields in the Contact Information section of the Event registration form; or
• Disable State and Country picklists in your Salesforce instance by following these instructions.
