Enabling the donation option for a Store

In the Shop app, you can enable an option for a visitor to add a donation to their order in a given store. When enabled, the donation option will appear at the bottom of the product list for a given store. If Categories are used for the store, it will appear on all tabs for the Categories:

In order to enable this option, you must first create a Product in Salesforce with which to associate this donation and add that product to a Salesforce Pricebook. You will need to enter the Record Id for the Price Book Entry of the donation Product into the Store parameters.

Once you have the Record Id for the Price Book Entry, you can enable the donation option in Shop by doing the following:

  • In the administrator, open the store for which you wish to enable the donation option
  • Click the Products tab
  • In the Products section, for Display Donation Option, select Yes
  • For Donation Option Title, enter a title you wish to display for the donation option line item. This text will appear in the product line item for the donation. As an example, in the screenshot above, the Donation Option Title reads "Add a Donation to your Order." For those adding a donation to their order, it will also appear in the Order Summary at the bottom of the store as well as in the product list in order confirmation emails and thank you pages when the {products} variable is used.
  • For Donation Option Description, enter text you wish to display under the Donation Option Title. This text will appear in the product line item for the donation. As an example, in the screenshot above, the Donation Option Description reads "Please consider adding a donation to your order!"
  • For Donation Option Pricebookentry Id, enter the Salesforce record Id for the Pricebook Entry of the donation Product you created in Salesforce
  • Click Save
