Sending a confirmation email to fundraisers when they create their Fundraising Page

When a fundraiser creates a new Fundraising Page as part of a peer-to-peer campaign, you can send a customized email to the fundraiser and CC or BCC additional email addresses of your choosing. This email can include the URL for their specific Fundraising Page. This email notification can be globally enabled and defined in the Donations Configuration as well as customized on a Donation form level.

To enable and define a default for all Donations peer-to-peer fundraising Donations forms:

  1. Open the Configuration for the Donations app
  2. Click the Fundraiser tab
  3. For Send Email under Fundraising Page Creation Email Notifications, choose Yes or No as the default for all peer-to-peer fundraising Donations forms
  4. For Send Copy (CC), enter a comma-delimited list of email addresses you wish to receive the notification emails in the CC line of the email
  5. For Send Blind Copy (BCC), enter a comma-delimited list of email addresses you wish to receive the notification emails as BCCs
  6. For Email Subject, enter the desired subject line to be used when the email has been enabled for a peer-to-peer fundraising Donations form that does not have a Email Subject defined
  7. For Email Body, use the editor to enter the text you wish to appear in the body of the email to be used when the email has been enabled for a peer-to-peer fundraising Donations form that does not have a Email Body defined. You can include images and other elements that will appear if the recipient's email service accepts HTML-formatted emails. You may also include the following merge fields:
    • {fundraising_page_title}: The title of the Fundraising Page, as customized by the fundraiser
    • {fundraising_page_url}: The full URL for the fundraiser's Fundraising Page
    • {campaign_page_title}: The title of the Donation form with which the Fundraising Page is associated
  8. Click Save

To set the admin and staff notification email for a Donations form:

  • Open the Soapbox Donation form for which you wish to customize the email
  • Click the Fundraiser tab
  • For Send Email under Fundraising Page Creation Email Notifications, choose Yes, No or Use Global Config. Use Global Config will send the email if Donations > Configuration > Fundraiser > Send Email is set to Yes.
  • For Send Copy (CC), enter a comma-delimited list of email addresses you wish to receive the notification emails in the CC line of the email
  • For Send Blind Copy (BCC), enter a comma-delimited list of email addresses you wish to receive the notification emails as BCCs
  • For Email Subject, enter the desired subject line. This will override the Email Subject set in Donations > Configuration > Fundraiser for this form.
  • For Email Body, use the editor to enter the text you wish to appear in the body of the email. This will override the Email Body set in Donations > Configuration > Fundraiser for this form. You can include images and other elements that will appear if the recipient's email service accepts HTML-formatted emails. You may also include the following merge fields:
    • {fundraising_page_title}: The title of the Fundraising Page, as customized by the fundraiser
    • {fundraising_page_url}: The full URL for the fundraiser's Fundraising Page
  • Click Save
