Limiting Ticket Purchase Quantity for Promo Codes

updated

Currently, the Soapbox Engage Events App does not offer the functionality to limit the number of tickets included in a reservation specifically when a promo code is used. However, here is an alternative option:

  • Admins can set a maximum quantity of tickets on a per-ticket basis.
    • Note: this setting is independent of whether a promo code is applied or not.
  • Setting a Maximum Quantity for a ticket type only allows the front end user to purchase up to that many tickets for a single transaction
    • Example: If Max Number of tickets = 2, then a user can only purchase up to 2 tickets for that ticket type
      • A promo code can be used on top of this but it will not affect the number of tickets allowed for purchase

The steps to do this are:

  • Go to your Soapbox Engage Events App > Events > (Specific Event you'd like to apply this to)
  • Under the Edit tab scroll down to Ticket Information and click Edit on the ticket you'd like to apply this to
  • Under "Maximum Tickets", type in the maximum number you'd like to allow a user to purchase
  • Save
