Why do visitors see "Salesforce Error: Use one of these records?" after registering for an event

If visitors to your Soapbox Engage Events app page see the following message on the confirmation page after successfully registering for an event, it's likely a Salesforce duplication error.

Salesforce Error: Use one of these records?

This message means that the contact information provided by the visitor who registered for the event triggered your Salesforce duplicate matching rules.  To avoid this from happening, you can do one of the following.

  1. Hide Salesforce error messages from appearing on the Events app
  2. Update your Salesforce duplicate matching rules to take into account situations that might trigger duplicate matching from Soapbox Engage
