With the Auctions and Live Displays apps together, the room can see your paddle raise as it happens — the level currently being called, and each commitment as your team records it. Setting it up spans both apps, and it is worth doing before the day rather than during it.
What the room will see
- A banner across the top of the display showing the level being called — its name and amount
- A large spotlight when a commitment comes in at exactly that level's amount
- Each commitment joining the donor stream
- Your Funds raised total climbing as commitments are recorded
Setting it up
In the Auctions app, set your giving levels up on the auction's Paddle Raise tab. See Setting up and running a Paddle Raise.
In the Live Displays app, open the display in the administrator and:
- Set Linked Auction to the auction running the paddle raise.
- Choose whether to designate paddle raise commitments on the display.
On the display itself, open the Settings panel and enable Display Paddle Raise Level.
That is the whole connection — there is nothing to configure on the auction pointing back at the display.
Running it
You do not drive the display. Everything comes from the auction's Paddle Raise tab: activate a level there and the banner follows; record a commitment and it appears in the room.
That means whoever is working the Paddle Raise tab is effectively running the screen, which is worth saying out loud to your team before doors open.
What to check beforehand
- A level must be active for the banner to show anything. Before the paddle raise starts, the display shows your normal fundraising view.
- The spotlight is exact. It fires only when a commitment matches the active level's amount. A supporter giving more than the level appears in the stream and the total, but does not trigger the spotlight — that is deliberate, not a fault.
- Commitments count toward the display's total, so the figure on screen combines donations and paddle raise commitments. If that total needs to mean something specific to your audience, decide which before the event.
- Voided commitments drop off the display as well as the totals.
