Why do I see the error "...Illegal assignment from Integer to String..."

If you see the following error when attempting to convert a Lead record for an initial recurring donation in Salesforce, it is likely due to having Enhanced Recurring Donations enabled in the Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack with an earlier version of our Soapbox Donations for Salesforce managed packed installed:

ConvertLead failed. First exception on row 0; first error: CANNOT_INSERT_UPDATE_ACTIVATE_ENTITY, There was an error converting the lead. Please resolve the following error and try again: sbxd.sbx_DonationsLead: execution of AfterUpdate caused by: System.SObjectException: Illegal assignment from Integer to String (sbxd): []
