With the Auctions app, the sponsors you set up show in two places: a Sponsors page in your auction, and a scrolling bar on a Fundraising Live Display at your event. An auction with no items also shows them on its home page. All of these draw on the same sponsor records, so you set them up once.
The auction's Sponsors page
Bidders reach the page from the Sponsors item in the auction's navigation menu. Sponsors appear grouped under their level, in the order you set, with each level's logos sized according to that level's Logo Size.
Each sponsor appears as a card showing its logo and name. Where you entered a URL, the whole card links to that site.
Turning the page on and off
The Sponsors page appears only when both of these are Yes:
- Sponsors, under What's in this auction on the auction's Details tab
- Show Sponsors Menu Item, on the auction's Menu & Pages tab
To turn the page on:
- Open the Auctions Manager.
- Click the title of the auction you want to manage.
- Click the Details tab, and under What's in this auction, for Sponsors, select Yes.
- Click the Menu & Pages tab.
- For Show Sponsors Menu Item, select Yes.
- Click Save.
With either one set to No, the Sponsors item disappears from the auction navigation, and anyone who opens the Sponsors page's address is taken to the auction home page instead.
Important: Setting Sponsors to No also sets Show Sponsors Menu Item to No. When you set Sponsors back to Yes, Show Sponsors Menu Item stays No, so set it to Yes again on the Menu & Pages tab.
You can set Sponsors to No only while the auction has no sponsors or sponsor levels, published or not. To hide the page from an auction that has sponsors, set Show Sponsors Menu Item to No instead. For what each setting under What's in this auction controls, see Choosing what's in an auction.
Note: If the navigation shows no Sponsors item, check both settings before checking your sponsor records.
On the landing page of an auction with no items
When an auction has neither People Bid on Items nor Items Sold at a Set Price under What's in this auction, its home page shows a landing page in place of the item grid. Your sponsors appear there in a Sponsors section, grouped by level exactly as on the Sponsors page.
The section follows the same two settings as the Sponsors page, and appears only when the auction has at least one published sponsor level. For the other sections of the landing page, see Choosing which pages appear in your auction's navigation.
On a Fundraising Live Display
A Live Display can show a scrolling bar of sponsors along the bottom of the screen throughout your event. The sponsors come from the auction the display is linked to, so anything you change in the auction reaches the display.
Setting it up spans both apps:
- On the Live Display in the administrator, set Linked Auction to this auction, and choose which sponsor levels to include — useful when you want only your top tiers on the main screen.
- On the display itself, open the Settings panel and enable Show scrolling sponsors, then choose a Sponsor Scroll Speed of Slow, Medium or Fast.
The Live Display does not use the Sponsors or Show Sponsors Menu Item settings, so turning off the auction's Sponsors page does not remove sponsors from the display.
For the full Settings panel, see Managing Live Display Settings on the front end.
What has to be true for a sponsor to appear
Anywhere sponsors are shown, a sponsor appears only when both of these are true:
- The sponsor is Published
- The sponsor's level is Published
An unpublished level hides every sponsor in it, however each sponsor is set. That is the most common reason a sponsor is missing, and it is worth checking first because nothing on the sponsor's own record indicates it.
A sponsor with no logo still appears, using a placeholder, so gaps show up rather than disappearing quietly.
