Boost recurring donations this giving season with the upsell prompt!With the Auctions app, you receive an itemized receipt by email as soon as your auction balance is paid in full. It lists what you paid for, what you were charged, and, where your organizer includes it, the tax-deductible part of your payment.
When it's sent
Your receipt is sent automatically when your balance reaches zero. This happens whether you paid online from My Checkout, your organizer charged a card you saved, or your organizer recorded a cash or check payment. The subject is "Payment received - [auction name]".
The email comes from your organizer. If you can't find it, check your spam folder.
To have it sent again:
- Sign in to the auction.
- Click the account menu in the auction header.
- Click My Checkout.
- Under Payment received!, click Resend receipt. The message "Receipt resent." confirms it was sent.
What's on the receipt
The receipt thanks you by your first name and last initial, then reads "We've received your payment in full for [auction name]. Here's your itemized receipt."
The item table
Each item you won, bought or pledged has its own row. Pledges are named by their giving level. When you bought more than one of an item, the row shows ×N after the name, and repeat Buy Now orders of the same item are combined into one row.

The Fair market value and Deductible columns appear only when your organizer shows fair market value on receipts.
If your organizer removed or changed a charge, the row says so rather than changing silently. A removed row reads "Removed by your organizer — no longer on your bill", with the original amount struck through and $0.00 beside it. A changed row reads "Adjusted by your organizer", with the original amount struck through beside the new one. Your organizer's reason is not shown.
The summary

For your tax records
When your organizer shows fair market value on receipts, a For your tax records section follows the summary. It reads:
- "The estimated fair market value of the items you received is $X. Your tax-deductible contribution is limited to the amount you paid above that value: $Y." If none of your items has a fair market value, it reads "Your tax-deductible contribution is $Y." instead.
- The organization presenting the auction, with its EIN where your organizer has entered one.
- "Sales tax and the fees you covered aren't part of the deductible amount. Please consult your tax advisor."

Collecting your items
Depending on your auction, the receipt may also include:
- "Your items are released for pickup or shipment now that payment is complete." This appears when your organizer holds items until they are paid for.
- Collecting your items:, followed by your organizer's instructions for where and when to pick them up. This appears only when you have something to collect in person.
Updated receipts
If your checkout changes after you have paid in full, for example because of a refund or a later purchase, you receive a new receipt once your balance is back to zero. Its subject is "Updated receipt - [auction name]", and it is marked Updated receipt.
It explains what changed, for example "Your [auction name] checkout is paid in full again. This replaces the receipt we sent on September 12: since then, $25.00 was refunded and $40.00 was paid." The item table and summary show your checkout as it stands now. Keep this receipt in place of the earlier one.
If something looks wrong
At the bottom of the receipt, "See something wrong on this receipt?" links to your checkout page, where you can report the problem to your organizer. See Understanding your checkout statement.
Note: Donations made through the auction's Donate link are not on this receipt. They are paid and receipted separately when you make them.
