Paying your auction balance

updated

With the Auctions app, everything you win, buy or pledge in an auction adds up to a single balance, and you can pay it online from My Checkout. You can pay it all at once or in parts, using a saved card, a new card, or Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them.

Opening your checkout

  1. Sign in to the auction.
  2. Click the account menu in the auction header.
  3. Click My Checkout.

If you open your checkout while signed out, you are asked to sign in first. If your organizer emailed or texted you a checkout link, you can open your checkout from that link instead. See Opening a checkout link.

While you owe something, a bar at the bottom of the page shows your Balance remaining and a Pay balance button. For what each figure on the page means, see Understanding your checkout statement.

Paying your balance

  1. On My Checkout, click Pay balance. The payment screen opens, and Paying today shows the amount you are about to pay.
  2. For Paying today · of $X balance, leave the full balance, or enter a smaller amount to pay part of it.
  3. If a processing fee checkbox appears, choose whether to cover the fee. See "Processing fees" below.
  4. Under Payment method, choose how you want to pay. See "Choosing how to pay" below.
  5. Click Pay $X.

To return to your statement without paying, click Back to checkout.

If your bank asks you to confirm the payment, a verification step opens on the page. Complete it to finish paying.

Paying part of your balance

  • When you enter less than you owe, the page shows "The remaining $X stays on your balance."
  • You can't pay more than you owe. If you enter a larger amount, it changes back to your balance.
  • If the amount is blank or zero, the page shows "Enter an amount between $0.01 and $X." and you can't pay until you enter an amount.
  • After a partial payment, the page confirms "Paid $X. Remaining balance: $Y." The amount field then fills in with what is left, so you can pay the rest now or come back later.

Processing fees

Your organizer may ask bidders to help cover card processing costs. The fee is a percentage of the amount you are paying today, and it is shown before you pay.

  • Your organizer's instructions for collecting your items, when you have something to pick up in person.

It also shows "We've emailed you an itemized receipt." To have the receipt sent again, click Resend receipt. The message "Receipt resent." confirms it was sent.

Your statement stays on My Checkout after you pay, so you can come back to it at any time.
