Adding and managing Sponsors

updated

With the Auctions app, you can list the organizations supporting your auction, each with its logo and a link to its website. Sponsors are grouped into the levels you have set up, so recognition matches what each supporter gave.

Create your levels first — every sponsor is assigned to one. See Creating Sponsor Levels.

To add a sponsor:

  1. Open the Auctions Manager.
  2. Click the title of the auction you want to manage.
  3. Click the Sponsors tab.
  4. Click New.
  5. For Name, enter the sponsor's name.
  6. For Level, select the sponsor level this sponsor belongs to.
  7. For Logo, upload the sponsor's logo.
  8. For Logo Alt, enter a short description of the logo for anyone using a screen reader — usually the sponsor's name is enough.
  9. For URL, enter the sponsor's website address. Leave it blank if you do not want their card to link anywhere.
  10. For Published, select Yes to show the sponsor, or No to keep them hidden while you gather details.
  11. Click Save.

The Sponsors list

The tab lists your sponsors with their Id, Name, Level, Logo, Logo Alt, URL, Order and Published state — so you can see at a glance which entries are still missing a logo or a link.

Ordering sponsors within a level

The Order column sets the sequence within each level. Drag a sponsor using its handle, then save. Ordering is per level, so a sponsor cannot be moved above one in a higher tier by reordering — change its Level instead.

Logos

The size a logo appears at comes from its level, not from the sponsor, so all sponsors in a tier are shown consistently however large the files you upload.

Supply logos at a good size and let the level scale them down. A sponsor with no logo uploaded still appears, using a placeholder in its place, so an incomplete entry is visible rather than silently missing.

Note: Always fill in Logo Alt. It is what a screen reader announces in place of the image, and it is what shows if the image itself fails to load.

Linking to a sponsor's site

When URL is filled in, the whole sponsor card becomes clickable, not just the logo. Enter the full web address including https://.

Hiding a sponsor

Set Published to No to remove a single sponsor from the front end.

Important: A published sponsor still will not appear if its level is unpublished. Only published sponsors in published levels are shown. If a sponsor is missing, check the level first.
